New Delhi: Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Jawan on Sunday celebrated the 75th Independence Day on the edge of Pangong Tso on Ladakh.
They lined up through the Lake banks carrying Indian flags and also sang national anthem, as part of the celebration.
Meanwhile, the ITBP Jawan at the Uttrakhand border also celebrated the day as high as 13,000 feet.
The celebration was also held at the postal border on Ladakh from 14000 to 17,000 feet.
A day before independence day, 20 ITBP personnel were chosen for police medals for Gallantry (PMG) this year for their courage in the East Ladakh battle in May-June last year.
This personnel included between 23 who was awarded this year’s police medal at the annual event.
This is the highest number of caught medals for the ITBP given to the courage of the people on the border facing or battle or the assignment of the border guards, said ITBP in a statement immediately after this center expressed this award.
