Religious: The new coastal cleaning device, developed by students from the government-managed industrial training institution (ITI) here, was introduced to clean the beach in Gopalpur-on-Sea on Monday.
Collector Ganjam Vijay Amruta Kouse launched the device and launched the drive.
“Devices 1.5-width, lightweight and wheeled, coastal clean tools, can be handled manually.
This can clean almost all debris, even the smallest garbage piece of the sand surface in a limited period of time.
Environmentally friendly tools can clean about 1,000 feet in One hour, “said the Principal of Iti Rajat Kumar Panigrahy.Kullenge asked the ITI authority to develop at least 10 more devices that would be used to clean the beach of Gopalpur and Sonepur in this district.
“We got the concept of a mixed sub-collector V Keerthhi Vassan and then designed a tool by students from the Institute,” Panigrahy said, adding that before the launch, they tested the device at least three times on the beach and modified some time.
“We need one month to develop the device completely,” he added.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Institute developed several innovative products to fight deadly viruses.
Four of these products – shoe sanitisers, covid security systems, covid robo-barriers and sample collection kiosks – have been patented.
