‘It’s hot out there’: England lament slowly penalty level

Melbourne: England has spoken with officials about speeding up their game after docking the Five World Test Championship (WTC) points and all their match fees failed to pass through their required overs against Australia in the first ash test.
The side of Joe Root was controlled into a short five in the nine-goal defeat at Gabba after time allowance was considered, with the referee match David Boon, a former Australian test opener, imposes sanctions.
Players fined 20% of their match fees for each side they failed for a bowl in the specified time, while the team was sentenced to one point for each short.

It will put England under more pressure to watch the clock when they try to raise the five test series against ash holders.
