JYP Entertainment, K-Pop band ITZY’s agency, recently released a statement after the dismissal of defamation charges against the alleged bullying victim of the girl group member, Lia.
As per the latest report by Xportnews, the K-pop band’s agency said they heard the results, and it was quite shocking to accept it.
However, they are still figuring out the situation clearly, another official statement will soon be published to make additional clarification.
As reported by the Korean news portal, Yeonhap News, Incheon Yeonsu Police Station discharged the singer’s victim of defamation charges.
The authorities felt the online posts were only a mode of expression.
They were unable to obtain greater evidence to prove the allegations and hence decided to drop the charges.
An investigating officer was quoted saying, “There is no clear evidence to prove A falsely wrote the article or A wrote it with the purpose of slander.”
It all started back in February 2021 when ITZY’s Lia was accused of being a school bully by the claimed victim A [name not revealed].
The group agency, JYP Entertainment, swiftly disputed the accusations.
The agency has thus taken legal action against the claimed victim for defaming their artists.
Detailing the issue, A [alleged victim] accused the singer of taking money and not paying back and bullying her friend simultaneously throughout their school time.
It was said that it the victims had a tough period and the mental condition wasn’t great because when A stood up for her friend, even she was exposed to bullying, continual abuse and mental torture by Lia.
A’s accusation post was titled ‘Victim of school violence perpetrated by famous female idol born in 2000.’
Lia is a popular South Korean singer and rapper, and part of the hottest girl group ITZY.
She is the main vocalist and sub-rapper of the girl band.
