” Chander said that official J & K gave them the details of the last census available, namely 2011, Patwar Halqas and the district, population numbers etc.
“In the last census conducted in 2001, there were only 12 districts and the number of districts held now up to 20.
Similarly, there were only 58 teasts, which is currently 270.
We can observe that there is a large-overlap of administrative patwar halqa because People face great discomfort, “he said.
He said that they did not only meet political leaders, but civil society groups, lawyers, individuals, tribes, leaders of local bodies and heads of NGOs as well.
“We are quite happy to see great participation in the process.
I would say that the difficult field was not recognized in previous restrictions carried out in 1995.
The population must be the main criteria for being discarded but priorities will also be an area, geography, topography and also regional communication facilities, “He said.
The assembly chair at J & K was limited in 1963, 1973 and 1995.
The last exercise was carried out by the KKA (Pension) of the Gupta Commission when the state was under the President’s government and was based on the 1981 census, which formed the basis of the country’s election.
In 1996.
There was no census in the state in 1991 and there were no restrictions commissions established by the state government after the 2001 census as assembly J & K has issued laws that put freezing for fresh restrictions to 2026.
“We will Keep in mind the 2011 census.
According to the Law of Delimitation, we must go with the latest census available, “he said.
But he added that ACT guarantees representatives in the SC and ST categories.
For the request of the Head of PDP Mehbooba Mufti has accused that the draft for the restriction process has been prepared, the REPD Head Commission.
