Srinagar: In a rare heart movement, a senior police officer in Srinagar arrived at the help of old local vendors in the city, who was robbed from his long savings, which he saved for his funeral.
Abdul Rehman, 90, a street seller ‘Channa’ in the Bohri Lizard area was robbed by bastards on Saturday.
He has saved the money for his last ceremony, the sources told PTI newsagency.
The robbers struggled Rehman, who lived alone, and took the RS 1 lakh he saved with him for fear of blaming him, said their news agency.
Moved by his trials, Sandeep Chaudhary Senior Police Supervisors peeled off, said the source.
Police officers gave Rehman Rs 1 Lakh from his own pocket who brought a smile to the face of the vendor, they added.
The police have registered cases and investigations.
These sources said police officers were top, including SSP, tracking investigations.
Meanwhile, the movement received praise for the city police chief on social media.

Chaudhary has helped students in need: This is not the first time young IPS officers are on the news to help those who need it.
A few years ago, his efforts to prepare students in need for drill competitive exams because 38 students fulfilled the written test requirements for sub-inspector’s position in various state police wings.
According to reports, the exam for recruitment of sub-supervisors in the executive, armed and telecommunications wing was carried out by the state police in the last week of June 2018 and the results were stated in August with 2,181 candidates for the assessment test personality.
Candidates chosen, among 150 students attending the second grade of officers two hours for 25 days.
They belong to various parts of the Jammu area and Ladakh.
