J & K Sikh Body blames Delhi leaders for ‘provocative’ statements, asking people to defend Harmony together

Amritsar: The day after Delhi Sikh leaders returned from the valley, Srinagar-based Sikh Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) blamed Delhi’s leadership to publish a “offensive” statement that could endanger peace and communal harmony in the valley.
However, another Sikh group led by the Committee of Parbandhak Gurudwara, Budgam, did not agree with the APSCC statement.
“Some Sikh leaders made an unacceptable offensive statement and we condemn that,” said President Apscc Jagmohan Singh Raina.
By stating that the Sikh community in Jammu & Kashmir has lived in harmony with the Muslim community, Raina said that it was important for Muslims and Sikh maintaining their communal harmony and brotherhood.
However, the Pervender Singh Chopra of the Committee of the Gurdwara Parbandhak, Budgam, and credited by Sikh Delhi’s leadership to get the voice they heard.
Without taking the name of the leader, the civil society of Jammu and Kashmir (JKCS) warned of efforts with “a little” to give communal colors to the incident of the two Sikh girls who marry Muslims.
One member of JKCS, Altaf Wani, said they convinced Sikh’s leadership, including Delhi President Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak (DSGMC) President Manjinder Singh Sire, from all assistance.
“We not only convinced all kinds of assistance to the Sikh community but also urged them not to provide this incident as a religious and communal color that can prove the detrimental peace and communal harmony of the valley” he said.
When asked about marriage from one of the Sikh girls, Manmeet Kaur, who despite marrying a Muslim man in court on June 26, married a Sikh man on Tuesday, Altaf Wani, said that “it was due to the majority community efforts of the valley, JKC and the community Sikh that the girl was brought from her husband’s house and was handed over to her parents so that there was no confusion that she was kidnapped.
“However, she said JKCS was a view that before marrying Mermen to the Sikh man, the public must resolve legal issues first, because manmeet married legally With Ashiq on June 26.
