J & K: The main tunnel section in the Banihal-Katra train link is finished

Banihal / Jammu: Some of the main tunnels at the Banihal-Katra train link under the construction of 111-km in Jammu and Kashmir are completed on Saturday, an official said.
Tunnel T-49B is 12.6 km and the longest tunnel from the Indian train.
This is part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Line (USBRL) project.
The part that was completed on Saturday was between Adit and Arpinchala Kundan in Khari Tehsil, a company that committed the construction of the project.
Built with a new Austrian tunneling method in the distribution district, the completion tunnel will have a double track, the official said.
He said tunneling was done very carefully considering the geological challenges.
