Pune: Vaccination of residents who are bound in bed who live in housing communities or individual homes within Pune’s civilian limits will begin on Tuesday.
“A total of 65 patients’ bed / family members have been applied to utilize the benefits of covid vaccination.
A total of 10 patients will be inoculated every day, starting August 24,” said Covid Covid Immunization Head Covid Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Suryakant Devkar.
Patients lying on the bed can take advantage of the benefits of free Covid vaccination after the previous intimacy and submission of the medical documents needed to the email address of PMC bedriddenvaccination.pune@gmail.com.
“We have observed that in some cases, patients do not attach a medical certificate doctor citing conditions that make patients lie in bed.
In addition, some do not attach other medical certificates that support fitness for covid vaccination.
Without this required certificate, we cannot offer Covid vaccination to residents of bed, “said Devkar.
Individual family members lying on the bed must send PMC names, addresses, and contact numbers of the Bedridden family members.
PMC originally asked for relatives of beneficiaries to ensure the presence of a family doctor during the post-JAD 30 minute observation period, which was mandatory.
“Now, we have decided that our health staff will observe patients for half an hour after vaccination,” said Devkar.
PMC has vaccassed the occupants of old houses and persons with disabilities at maintenance facilities for more than two months.
But demand has grown for vaccination home for individuals lying on the bed.
“The aim is to expand the benefits of vaccination for everyone,” said Mayor Muralidhar Mohol.
