Mangaluru / Bengaluru: Researchers are affiliated with the natural bomb of the history of the Society (BNHS), the center of the ecological science, Indian Institute of Sciences, and the National Biological Center found 12 new gecko species in Western Ghats.
The paper written by Saiunak Pal, is currently associated with BNHS, Zeeshan A Mirza NCBS, Princia Dsouza and Kartik Shanker from CES published in the current edition of the International Journal Journal ‘Journal’ Research Zoologi ‘.
While two species come from the Range Baba Budan Giri and the Sharavathi Karnataka Valley, five each comes from Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Interestingly, one was found in Tamil Nadu named after a famous actor and Jackie Chan’s martial artist because of fast, moving quickly on the rock and slipped into the cracks to escape when approached.
This research is part of a larger survey of frogs, Western Ghats lizards and snakes, supported by a critical ecosystem partnership fund between 2009 and 2014.
