Jadavpur University Top Indian University in the Stanford list

Kolkata: Jadavpur University has topped the list of Indian universities in the Stanford University database on top of the top scientists based on their career publications.
The list published on October 19 has Ju with 29 scientists at the top bracket, in front of the University of Hindu Sekas with 24 scientists, Hyderabad University with 22 scientists and Delhi University with 18 scientists.
The leading Institute of India is IISC Bangalore with 114 leading scientists on its scrolls.
Ju VC Suranjan Das said, “I really feel proud that my colleague gets international recognition.
They have made not only make the University Jadavpur proud, but Bengal too.
I hope after this recognition, the UGC will reconsider the attraction to bring back the status of the institution Eminence.
“IOE tags make institutions that are eligible to provide a grant RS 1,000 Crore from the center of more than five years.
Apart from Ju, UGC denied the status of Ashoka University in Sonify, Azim Premji University and Indian Institute for human settlements in Bengaluru, Kria University in Andhra Pradesh and Indian Public Health Institute in Gandhinagar.
The University of Muslim Aligarh and the University of Tezpur also did not make wounds.
The state has written to UGC to reconsider his decision.
The sources of the State Education Department said that Ju’s name was removed because the state had refused to share the burden to fund IOE status.
Ju submitted a revised scheme of RS 606 Crore to UGC last year, which was sought by RS 454 Crore from the center and proposed to raise the rest.
