Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated the Heliport at Shimla

Shimla: Head of Himachal Minister Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday inaugurated Heliport near Sanjuli-Dhalli bypass at Capital Shimla.
Thakur said the three-storey heliport – built at RS 18 crore costs – has all modern facilities such as counter reception, Office of the Heliport manager, ticket counters and VIP lounges etc.
He said that Heliport also had portion cabin facilities for passenger arrivals, parking for 50 vehicles, deck for helicopters and safety nets.
He said that the state government will soon send a new Heliport construction proposal in Reckong Peo, Chamba, Dalhousie, Jhanjeli, Jawalaji etc.
to the Union of the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation.
Thakur said this Heliport spread in the 10.3 area of ​​Bigha land and had been beautified by mural paintings and was equipped with a CCTV / Surveillance system.
He said that Heliport was also being built in Baddi, Rampur and bathing under the scheme of the UDAAN-2 Indian government.
While interacting with the media, the main minister said that the Center had provided Rs 12.13 Crore for the construction of Heliport in Shimla under the Himalayan Circuit from the Darshan Swadesh program and RS 6 Crore under Udan-2 Central Government.
He said this heliport would not only provide very much needed assistance for upscale tourists who visited the country, but would be used effectively in medical emergencies because this heliport was near IGMC, Shimla.
He said that special emphasis was being placed in air connectivity along with four national highway lanes linking the main tourist destinations in the state.
There are currently 64 helipads in the state and 38 new helipads were built by the state government, he added.
He said that Heliport and Helipad would prove useful in the close features of tourism, connectivity and an emergency point of view.
He said that this would also facilitate rescue operations and help transport patients to a large hospital in an emergency situation.
Heliport will prove the boon in increasing tourism and economic activities at Himachal Pradesh, he added.
