Jaipur: 2 owned to send fake bombs to traders

Jaipur: Jawahar Nagar Police on Sunday arrested a 40-year-old man and his 19-year-old girlfriend for sending a fake bomb hidden with a cake to a garment trader at King Park as a threat to squeeze Hospital 10 lakh.
The police identified the defendant as Aish Ahmad and Suhaliya to plan extortion bids to clean their debt.
Police said Ahmad knew Garment traders Vibhu Gupta and worked as staff at his shop located in Panchvati Circle in King’s Park.
The investigator claimed that Ahmad’s previous experience as an electrician was useful while designing a ‘dummy bomb,’ which was a scare tactic to extort money from traders.
“Who accumulates a lot of debt and thinks that Gupta will be an easy target if he can be afraid to pay for a large number,” an official said.
The incident had occurred on Friday afternoon when a driver of e-becak sent a cake into the box at the Gupta store.
When Gupta opened a suspicious box, he saw some of his joking cables and a note that asked him to travel with the same rickshaw with Rs 8 to Rs 10 Lakh.
The letter also threatened that if he failed to pay, the bomb would explode.
Shaken after reading it, Gupta refused to receive the shipment of the box and return it to the driver.
The driver then took home cakes and found a digital watch, battery, and cable in it.
He panicked and threw it near the culverts.
The police on Saturday morning restored the box and held the driver, he told the police that a woman had paid for Rs 50 to send a box to the Gupta police, the police said the device did not have explosives or detonators and several nails.
The police then formed a special team led by Sho Panna Lal to track the woman and explore all conspiracies.
