Jaipur: 3 held to spread rumors about old temples

Jaipur: Police Manak Chowk has arrested three people for allegedly submitting misleading information about social media about the changes carried out in a centuries temple in the Bader Chauper.
DCP (North) Paris Deshmukh told Ti on Friday that three people were arrested so far and FIR was listed under the IT Law.
Police actions came in the background of several messages and videos that would be viral on social media about alleged changes made in the Laxminaray temple complex in Badi Chauper.
Police Commissioner Jaipur Anand Shrivastava said rumors about social media were circulated with the intention to disturb the shared harmony.
He added that there were no changes or construction carried out in the temple complex.
“This temple is managed by the Devasthan department and all religious practices and services usually occur,” he said.
Talking about this case, Deshmukh said that there was a very old Jyoti (flame) in the corner of the complex.
People from all religions from the local area came there when their prayers and desires were fulfilled.
“The temple is almost 300 years and nothing has changed there,” Dishmukh said.
In accordance with the police, rumors of social media are circulated with the intention of mala to mislead people that some people with different faith allegedly make changes in the temple complex.
Police denied allegations and filed nine beginners.
Deshmukh said that more arrests tended to be in this case.
