Jaipur: City Police Commissioner said on Thursday that misleading information was disseminated on social media about changes carried out in a centuries temple in Badi Chauper to disturb the shared harmony.
“There is a very old Laxminarayan temple in the Badiper Chauper.
Some people on social media spread wrong information about the temple with the aim of disturbing a shared harmony,” said Police Commissioner Anand Shrivastava, added that there were no new changes or construction made in the temple complex .
He also said that prayer and religious services have occurred at the temple regularly.
“Some people claim that members of different religious faith have made changes in the temple that is truly wrong,” Shrivastava said.
Police said the police had filed brilliantly against rumors that spread and they would be arrested.
DCP (North) Paris Deshmukh said that social media rumors that Mazar was being built in the temple was wrong because there was no new construction that occurred there.
He also said that the temple was almost 300 years old.
This temple is managed by the Devasthan department.
Deshmukh said the police would take strong action against those who spread wrong information.
“We have filed firmly against the people involved in rumors of Mongering.
We have ordered nine people to say Covid norms and promote hostility,” Dishmukh said.
