Jaipur: Residents of several colonies in Sodala complained about digestive disorders, loose movements, and vomiting after allegedly consuming polluted water.
A medical officer team went to check it on Sunday morning and prescribe medicines.
According to residents, since the last few days, Ganesh Nagar, Phutleya Baad, Govindpuri, Jamna Devi, Gayatri Nagar, and the Kolony of Kumawat, has received water contaminated from public health pipes and engineering departments (PHP).
Pradeep Joshi, a resident of one of the colonies said that they got a water supply twice a day.
“The morning water supply was clean but, at night, we had received dirty yellow water, which had an irresistible smell.
Even though we didn’t drink the water, he went to the underground water tank in homes that had an impact on our health,” Joshi said.
However, surprisingly, Phed officials claimed that no water was supplied to the colony who complained at night.
Mangturam Jain, an assistant engineer at Phed in Sodala said that they had examined the entire area but could not find any leakage in their pipelines.
“Phed supplying water in this area only in the morning.
We haven’t found out how they are provided with water and moreover water is polluted.
We oversee the situation,” Jain said.
Collionists claim that they are suggested by PHP officials not to consume water provided at night.
“Today we receive clean water but the stench has lasted.
There is no satisfying action taken.
Still water provided at night mixed in our water tank,” Joshi said.
