Jaipur: A 25-year-old mechanical engineer was arrested for running online fraud where he cheated several people to pay a large amount of money to redeem the lottery.
DCP (North) Paris Deshmukh said the special team was formed at the Amber Police Station to zero on charges offering online lottery offers and deceiving people.
The police arrested the defendant identified as Kamal Ashraf, native Bihar.
According to ASI Rajendra Kumar Bagda, the defendant was a mechanical engineer from a city-based college in Kukas.
He graduated in 2019.
Officials at the City Police said the defendant had come into contact with several other online scammer who had reaped a decomposed fortune by deceiving people online.
“Lure of easy money and the minimum risk of taking it to roam to the world of cybercrime.
He offers people of lottery offerings who doubt from several lakhs, and then demand the RS commission 10,000 to 20,000,” said an official, added many people.

Baga police received information that the defendant was scheduled to visit Amber and arrest him on Saturday.
