Jaipur sanitation workers stirred over salary

Jaipur: About 1,500 sanitation workers employed by garbage collector companies began to break up from Wednesday because of non-payment of salaries over the past two months.
In his reply, the company accused that they could not pay wages because civil bodies did not clean their contributions.
About 10 days ago, sanitation workers have organized large protests at JMC headquarters who said they would stop lifting garbage if their wages were not cleaned.
On Wednesday, around 1,300 tons of garbage were not picked up from the city of Jaipur.
Almost all city roads are filled with garbage and the situation will likely change worse if the problem is not immediately resolved.
Many board members of the two companies said they were fed up with officials.
They added that if the sanitation worker did not continue the work, the condition of the city would deteriorate.
Vicky Umarwal, the company’s sanitation worker said, “We have provided a lot of ultimatum to the company to clean our bills.
Because both civil bodies have not cleared the company’s bills, they cannot pay salaries.
We want our bills to be cleaned or strike will continue.” In JMC- Heritage, preparation has begun to clean the bill by Rs 10 Crore to the company.
While payments for May and June have been cleaned, the process of removing the number for July and August is in the process.
JMC-Heritage has called a meeting with the garage department to regulate alternative ways to lift garbage using their own resources if the workers continue with their strikes.
JMC-Heritage Mayor Munesh Gurjar said they would immediately clear the bill and workers would stop their attack from Thursday.
“We discuss with the income department and will try to delete several bills.
We are fully equipped to lift garbage from door-to-door until the problem is resolved,” Gurjar said.
