Brasilia: Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was hospitalized on Wednesday to investigate the causes of persistent hiccups, the government said.
The 66th longer leader has complained publicly since last week that he suffered hiccup after surgery on the gear implant on 3.
Bolsonaro was taken to a military hospital in the capital of Brasilia “to undergo a test and to investigate the cause of hiccups,” said a statement from the palace president.
“He is in a good spirit and feels good,” said the presidency, added that Bolsonaro would remain under the observation for the next 24-48 hours, though “not necessarily in the hospital.” Speaking with local radio stations last week, Bolsonaro said: “This happened to me before, maybe because the drug I took, I have a hiccup 24 hours a day.” On Tuesday night, a bolsonaro who looked tired of complaining to supporters outside his official residence in Brasilia about the problem.

After being stabbed in the campaign trail in September 2018, Bolsonaro had experienced several surgical procedures in his stomach since he was elected.
He also signed Covid-19 years ago despite light symptoms and he did not need hospital care.
