Jaisalmer: The licensed guide on Monday formed a human chain and protested the failure of the government in stopping false guidelines from cheating tourists visiting the district.
They accused the government’s inefficiency of the government has added to the decline in the tourism business.
Gathering under the Jaisalmer Tourist Guide Society flag, protesters brought placards and banners demanding immediate action against fake guidelines, locally called ‘LAPKAS’.
Society Secretary Narendra Changani said that there were around 600 official guidelines in Jaisalmer where only 200 worked as much as the remaining due to increased bullying by the lapke.
He accused that the lappassment won their business by filling in only Rs 100-200.
Troops and tourist security administration have been asked to take action against this lapkasi, which confuses tourists by providing wrong information about city history.
Changani said that the licensed guide filled Rs 1000 for Jaisalmer sightseeing but because Corona had been reduced to Rs 500.
Other guidelines, Arun Purohit said that the UNI Finance Minister had announced a loan Rs 1 lakh at a low interest rate for licensed guidance but no bank gave it.
