New Delhi: US Secretary Antony Blinken met Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in New Delhi on Wednesday morning.
Blinken arrived in India on Tuesday night on a two-day visit.
He met NSA Doval in South Block, shortly after 10 am.
Around noon, he met Jaisankar’s foreign minister.
Blinken said that President Biden was determined to strengthen the relationship between India and the US.
He talks about the need for greater cooperation between countries to fight the challenges of Covid and the disruptive impact of the technology that appears.
Even though he did not explain, the reference for “emerging technology” could be a cyber attack, where the US had blamed countries such as Russia and China.
But it can also be a quiet reference for Pegasus Snooping problems that make headlines in India.
Geo-political topics such as Afghanistan, Indo-Pacific and Quad also found out in the Blinken dialogue with Jaisankar.
“The peace and prosperity at the Indo-Pacific are as important as we as democratic stability in Afghanistan.
Deepen the Quad as a collaborative platform in our interests and we must work together even closer to the main contemporary challenges such as terrorism,” Jaisanhankar said.
Quad is an informal grouping of India, As, Australia and Japan.
“Our conversation about global problems will definitely be richer than real exchange of national experience and historic perspectives,” Jaisankar added.
Blinken will also meet PM Narendra Modi later during the day.
