WASHINGTON: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday had a”warm assembly” with US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin here through which they spoke further growing legislative and citizenship partnership between both countries and exchanged views on”modern security challenges”.
Jaishankar, who’s on an official visit to the US, is the earliest Indian Cabinet minister to go to the state since Joe Biden became US President on January 20.

A detailed dialog about further building our defence and strategic venture,” Jaishankar tweeted following the assembly, sharing a photo of them together.
He said that they exchanged views on”modern security issues”.
Both leaders have to have talked about the problem in the tactical Indo-Pacific area where China has been flexing its military muscles.
Both India and the US are advocating for a rules-based global order plus also a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific area.
The Quad group of the US, India, Japan and Australia have vowed to expand their collaboration in the Indo-Pacific amidst China’s aggressive activities in the area.
The US continues to be favouring Quad because of security structure to assess China’s growing assertiveness.
Jaishankar also voiced admiration of the US army role in reacting to this COVID-19 position in India.
