Mangaluru: District Minister Dakshina Kannada V Sunil Kumar said that all 468 works initiated under the Jal Jeevan mission in the district will be completed in March next year.
On the sidelines of the Tri-Monthan Karnataka Development Program (KDP) reviewed a meeting at Zilla Panchayat here on Friday, the minister said that the RS 310 Crore was released to the district under the Jeevan mission, to provide sufficient amounts of drinking water, through individual household tap connections.
Of the 468 works, 168 was finished, and the connection of the household tap was given to 28,000 households.
The remaining 58,000 households will get a water connection in March next year, “he told the media after the KDP review meeting.
He said MLA from the district had shown an interest in establishing Gaushala in all the marks Taluk.
Likewise, Gaushalas will be established in Puttur, Subrahmanya, Kateel, Polyal and Sauthadka.
Officials have been directed to identify land required for the same thing.
The Temple Management Committee will defend this Gaushalas, “he said.
