Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA from Jalalpur’s chair in Ambedkarnagar, Subhash Rai, joined BJP on Monday, further strengthening the trend of politicians who crossed into rival camps in front of Polls Pradesh Uttar.
Rai joined the party in Delhi in front of the Head of BJP Swatantra Dev Singh, and Deputy Minister’s head, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma.
Singh said Rai earlier with BJP and because it returned to the party was “Ghar Wapsi”, which will strengthen BJP in the region.
Rai, a former wrestler, along with BJP between 1990 and 2005 before shifting to SP.
Rai won the Jalalpur seat for SP in 2019 the Bypolls assembly after sitting BSP MLA Ritesh Pandey was chosen for Lok Sabha.
This is the first time Rai, a Bhumihar, has won the assembly election.
His victory in Ambedkarnagar marked the presence of SP in BSP fortress, months after the Head of BSP Mayawati yelled at SP.
The source said that Rai understood that he could be rejected by tickets by SP in the middle of the Government of BSP Leader Rakesh Pandey into the SP fold.
Speculation is rampant that sp may be the field of Pandey which happens to be the father of Ritesh Pandey, and uses a considerable influence between the top caste voters.
Ramgarh village residents in Ambedkarnagar, Rai has been a member of Zila Panchayat in Faizabad (now Ayodhya) and Ambedkarnagar between 1995 and 2015.
As a wrestler, he has won three-time state championships.
