After two years that Jallikuttu was detained in Thailkurichi.
Organized by the Don Bosco Youth Center of St Mary’s Church in the village, around 680 bulls and 300 tamers took part in the event, mentioned as Jallikattu first in Tamil Nadu this year.
Health department officials say that in accordance with SOPs, all tailors and bull organizers are allowed to enter Jallikattu Arena only after ensuring that they have received two vaccine doses and have a negative RT-PCR report produced in 24 hours from the start of the event.
Bulls are examined by a 30 member veterinary team.
They were examined for the sharpness of the horn and for the presence of external agents such as chili powder applied to the bulls body section – by breaking the rules – to provoke them.
“All the bulls we examined healthy and normal.
We keep water on the collection page to satisfy the thirst of the bull after driving through the page,” said Dr.
M M Sampath, said the livestock director, told toi.
Ambulances for dicks and bulls are placed in the venue.
Only 150 spectators were allowed in the venue.
Many people see events from the terrace of the nearest houses.
