JALNA: In the case of food poisoning suspected, at least 30 people fell ill after consuming food items made of “Bhagar” (Barnyard Millet) in two villages in Ambad Tehsil in District Jalna Maharashtra, police said.
The affected people were undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Ambad and his condition was stable, an official said.
The victims of Wadigodri and Bhamberi villages began to suffer dizzy and vomit after consuming Bhagar (which was generally eaten at fast) on the occasion of Navratri, the official said.
Incidentally, this is the case of second food poisoning in Ambad Tehsil in the last two days.
On October 7, six family members in the inter-law village were seized from Tehsil being hospitalized after eating Bhagar.
Given the cases of food poisoning, food drug administration (FDA) has launched hard action on falsified and unhygienic bhagar sold in various outlets in this district.
