Jammu: Chairman of the National Commission (NCW) Rekha Sharma heard at least 65 complaints, during the second session Mahila Jan Sunwai, held in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare Jammu and Kashmir on Friday at the Circuit House.
Complaints range from various crimes against women such as domestic violence, rape for sexual harassment in the workplace and stalk, in addition to the seizure of basic rights.
Sharma said this initiative facilitated the disposal of complaints received by NCW and also helped gather information about the problems faced by women in various parts of the country.
The show, this initiative has been launched with the aim of bringing gender sensitivity, especially by reaching for women who have been victims of domestic violence.
Senior NCW Consultant Kanchan Khattar; Jammu Ssp Chandan Kohli; Additional SP, Branch of Crime Jammu, Mamta Sharma; Specialists, gender resource centers for women, Sameena Mir and Deputy Lawyers from the Legal Service Authority of the High Court and District Law Service Authority, Jammu attended a session.
