Gurgaon: Come on January and the state pollution board of Haryana (HSPCB) will issue a web portal to analyze air quality data per hour from construction and disassembly sites (C & D) in all states.
Portal, with a video fence with long distance connectivity and direct dashes to facilitate monitoring, will operate in a week, said HSPCB N Narayana Secretary.
This step emerged after the commission for air quality management (CAQM) in NCR and an area side by side on December 20 direct the country to assign the portal on January 22 for a surge in air pollution during the winter because of the combination of adverse meteorological factors and local emissions due to C & D waste , Dust, waste burning, vehicle emissions and burning stumps.
“Shift technology will help project proponers for self-audit and certification of compliance with determined dust control measures and strengthen the monitoring of dust control measures on the C & D site.
Project initiators are also expected to upload a self-declaration every two weeks,” Narayana said .
According to officials, PCB will make it mandatory for all C & D projects on more than 500 square meters to register with a web portal, install sensors PM2.5 and PM10 that are reliable and economical on the project site and link it to the platform with direct accessibility dashboard for CPCB, Government institutions and related administrative departments.
C & D sites must also ensure the implementation of dust control measures, including covering construction and debris, using watercrew water and anti-fog weapons.
