Kolkata: The Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (Hidco) takes the work of repairs and restoration of some road stretches in new cities, including the main road and service road that has been badly damaged during the rainy season.
Work is starting from January because the authorities have initiated the process to involve agents.
The authorities will also prepare a number of new trails and will also build new dexts along the Bagjola canal on the side of the new city.
There are a number of roads and stretches that have developed craters.
In some places some streets have given up.
The authorities have conducted a survey to identify the stretch that needs to be improved.
For example, the portion of the main arterial road at the second intersection that comes from the V End sector will be corrected using interrelated concrete blocks.
Authorities will repair and recover roads No.
787 and road stretching from the Mahisbathan bridge approach to Nazrul Tirtha.
The erosive surface of the 750 meters of the left side of the main road facing the Hatisala area, including the road in front of Rose Dale housing the intersection complex in AA-III will also be repaired.
Another stretch on the repair list is Jalan No.
394 in front of the New Town Coffee House and several street service.
“We must take a comprehensive desilting and address the high increase in canal bagjola work immediately.
The road will be needed to carry out work and for officials to visit the place to be examined,” said an official.
