‘Japan Cos can invest at the vibrant global global peak’

Ahmedabad: Japanese car companies can invest in the upcoming Global Global Summit which is expected to be held in January 2022, said Yasukata Fukahori, the Japanese Consul General in Mumbai.
He was in Ahmedabad on Friday to start a watching experience guided by Japanese Zen Park and Kaizen Academy at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA).
Optimistic about the positive long-term prospects for Japanese investment in Gujarat and India, Fukahori said that investment tended to pour into the country during VGGs in making cars.
“Large car companies have invested in Gujarat and may seek the second or third phase investment.
However, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) such as additional car units can consider entering India and Gujarat,” said the Japanese Consul General in Mumbai.
Fukahori also said that ‘China + 1’ The strategies adopted by producers around the world can encourage investment to India.
“Because Covid-19, there is no movement in front of investment.
Many companies are looking for new manufacturing bases after China.
Therefore some companies including those from Japan will come to India because it is a promising market for the future, especially after Covid-19 .
Compared to other countries in India, Gujarat leads to attract foreign investment thanks to the promotional efforts by the state government to promote the country, “he said.
While the long-term prospects for Japanese investment in Gujarat and India are positive, Fukahori also states that Japanese car companies can be forced to make difficult decisions in the short term in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“In the long term for the next 10-20 years, business relations between Japan and India will definitely grow and the focus will increase and increase production.
However, after Covid-19, the company may have to make difficult decisions in the short term,” Fukahori said, Add that it can affect work.
When asked whether the production of downsizing would have an impact on work, he said, “There are many workforce problems faced by the company because of Covid-19.
Individual companies may have made difficult decisions to stop their workers.
If they have to reduce the size of the production, they must reduce the size of the work too.
