Tokyo: Japan reported no daily death from Covid-19 on Sunday for the first time in 15 months, when infection decreased rapidly in this country.
Health officials on Monday said there was no death the previous day, giving Japan a total of 18,310 deaths since the pandemic began.
Japan on Monday also stimulates restrictions on foreign students, workers and short-term business travelers who are fully vaccinated, have plans for their activities guaranteed by sponsors and observe 10 days of self isolation.
The quarantine of self for Japanese citizens and foreign residents was also shortened to three days since 10 days earlier.
The last time Japan reported no new Coronavirus death on August 2, 2020, according to the Ministry.
Japan was then hit by several waves of infection, including one led by the Delta variant last summer, when everyday case peaked around 25,000.
The health care system came almost collapsed and tens of thousands of patients who could not find hospital beds must recover at home.
In Tokyo, the new daily case rose to almost 6,000.
