Tokyo: Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga will replace the unpopular long-term allies because he tried to support the support ahead of the party’s leadership election he had to win before the general election planned for October, the media said on Tuesday.
The Secretary General of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Toshihiro Nikai told Suga, he will resign at a meeting on Monday, the report said.
“I’ve been at the Secretary General post for more than five years, I want you to make a reshuffle without hesitation,” Nikai said to Suga, according to the NHK public broadcaster.
Observers say the younger parliament has voiced their anxiety with the amount of power seen by Nikai, 82, who has held the main LDP post, with control over campaign funds, since August 2016 – the longest in party history.

The proposal was seen as an effort of Kishida to attract LDP members of the grassroots, unlike last year, would choose with MPs and with whom, afraid of losing their seats, maybe alert to follow the orders of their elders.
Party executives, including Nikai, were set to take place next week, Kyodo news agency reported.
The winner of the contest is all but guaranteed to be the prime minister because the majority of LDP in the lower house and will guide the party through general elections, with the government given the plan to hold a poll on October 17.
Anyone who led the party in the election would face uphill fighting.
Suga’s support rating was at the lowest record when he failed to use the shipping of the Olympics for the country, being hit hard by fresh wave of Coronavirus infection.
The government has stated the fourth emergency in most of Japan amid slow launch vaccinations.
LDP and its allies are not expected to lose the majority of their coalitions at a strong low house, but the forecast shows that the Suga Party can lose a direct majority, a result will weaken LDP.
