Jayant Yadav to stay back in South Africa for Odis

New Delhi: Jayant Yadav will remain in South Africa for the three-match ODI series.
Jayant will be part of the ODI team instead of Washington Sundar who has tested the positive Covid-19 before departure.
The rest of the players chosen for ODI, (Yuzvendra Chahal, Shikhar Dhawan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Venkatesh Iyer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Prasidh Krishna) left for Cape Town on Wednesday morning.
“It has been decided that Jayant will stay back in South Africa.
There is very little time to get other players in the bubble in Mumbai,” said BCCI TOI source.
Off-spinner from Haryana has impressed the head coach Rahul Dravid and his ability with bats seems to have made him points.
Without Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel are not available for this series due to injury, there are concerns over depth in batting arrangements.
The ability of Washington to subdue orders is seen as a relationship between the Central Order and a lower order.
Jayant has a good and reliable batting technique.
He has a test century with his name too.
He was seen as a substitute like to-like Washington.
It would be interesting to see if he got the game.
The appearance of Ravichandran Ashwin as a white ball spinner can continue to wait for Jayant.
