Jaipur: Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) on Tuesday gave financial and administrative approval for improvement and beauty of traffic in Junction Laxmi Mandir at the project work committee meeting (PWC) on Tuesday.
This project will be carried out at a cost of RS 81.25 Crore.
Under the project, JDA will build a 400-meter two lane underpass between bathing and Tond Road to provide a quick vehicle movement in the south west.
Along with this, a dedicated subway will be built to provide safe access to pedestrians.
The Civic’s body has also proposed the development of the facade in this area along with the statue of freedom fighters.
An official said the project was a requirement for hours because Laxmi Mandir was three legal intersections acting as one of the main exchange points for many public transport users.
“Because of the increasing traffic of BAIS Godam, Gandhi Nagar and Gopalpura, a long queue was observed during the signal time against these three approaches,” said an official.
The previous state government has announced to build seven free traffic intersections in the state capital.
In phase-1, the facelift from Laxmi Madir will be carried out by agency.
Previously, at Tonk Road, The (JDA) gave approval to build an underpass along the 400 meter long lajur at B2 Bypass Junction.
Construction underpass is proposed for perpendicular to the road Tonk, which will lead to faster and finer vehicle movements in the east-west.
The estimated cost of the project will be around RS 155 Crore and the Civil Body has provided administrative and financial approval (A and F) for repair and beauty work at B2 Bypass Junction at the Previous Project Work Committee meeting (PWC).
A official said, “After the reports of feasibility, this intersection work was approved by urban housing and the Minister of Development Shanti Dhariwal.
After this, detailed project reports were prepared and submitted.
After several corrections and modifications, administrative and financial approval provided.”
