Jaipur: Mini Forests will emerge in various corners of the city because JDA has started the plantation using popular Japanese Miyawaki techniques.
Minister of UDH Shanti Dhariwal inaugurated the project from Jawahar Circle to make urban forests.
JDA has allocated 30,000 square meters in 10 city parks including Central Park and Ramniwas Bagh where he plans to plant around 1.20,000 bushes and plants.
Officials claim that compared to conventional methods, forests that use this technique grow faster and become more dense and more bio-diverse.
A senior official said, “When the city population grew, we have adopted this method to increase green cover.
It has been experienced and tested that this urban forest helps reduce the temperature on the island of concrete heat, reduces air pollution and noise”.
This technique compressed the forest layer, shrubs, trees, canopies – in the small field of land, turning it into a small forest.
“About 20,000 factories will be planted in Hira Lal Park, Shastri Nagar.
Using this technique, forests grow in two to three years and independently.
The Civic body will plant various original species,” officially added.
Meanwhile, JDA will also eliminate the basis of trees in the city and ensure that at least one meter around them are left not paved while placing tiles on the path or road construction.
In a recent survey, JDA has found that the base of more than 3,000 trees is convenient next to arterial roads and local roads.
An official said, “JDA will leave the Kuccha room measuring 1.5×1.5 around the tree and install the lattice.
This will give a long life to Tress”.
The aim is to keep the green cover.
The source said, “The city has less than 10% of its territory under green cover, which is much lower than compulsory 20% needed according to the 2025 parent plan.”
