NEW YORK: Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has Chosen a date to Resign as CEO.
Bezos, that climbed Amazon from an online bookstore to an internet shopping behemoth, stated on Wednesday the Amazon executive Andy Jassy will take on the CEO job on July 5. “We picked that date because it is sentimental for me personally,” Bezos said through an Amazon shareholder meeting Wednesday. He clarified that it had been just 27 decades back on this date in 1994 which Amazon had been integrated. Seattle-based Amazon.com Inc declared that Bezos was stepping down as CEO in February, but did not offer a particular date. Jassy, his substitute, now runs the corporation’s cloud-computing company. Bezos, 57 along having a personal fortune of $167 billion, will not be moving far. He’ll become executive seat at Amazon and concentrate on new products and initiatives. In addition, he intends to concentrate on his other ventures, like his rocket boat company, Blue Origin, along with his paper, The Washington Post. On Wednesday, Amazon announced it would purchase storied Hollywood studio MGM for $8.45 billion with all the hopes of fulfilling its video streaming service using more shows and films to watch.
