Ahmedabad: Performance in class 12 and Gujcet will be considered the same for reception for technical courses.
It was announced by the committee that completed the norm for acceptance of techniques including those who cleaned their 12th grade science with group B or biology.
Every year a list of achievements for college acceptance is prepared by giving 40% weighing for a percentile obtained by candidates in Gujcet and the union of 60% of the percentiles obtained in the 12th Council (Science) exam.
This year, the ratio will be 50:50.
“The Committee has decided to provide the same batteries as the 12th grade performance and Gujcet results This is after the announcement of mass promotion for 12th grade students.
12th grade academic performance is evaluated based on performance-based developments.
State level exams are held every year for science students who seek receipt to degree techniques, technical and pharmaceutical diploma courses in the government, Grant-in-Aid and self-financing engineering institutions in Gujarat.
Four committee members have suggested giving 100% weight material for Gujcet results.
“Some members suggest giving full weight to the results of Gujcet to enter technical courses.
But it is not a proper choice because it will fully get rid of the results of class 12 obtained by students through performance-based developments,” Sheth said.
A total of 15 engineering courses have been selected where students who choose biology instead of mathematics in class 12 can register this year, he said.
They include milk technology, rubber technology, biomedical techniques, agricultural technology, chemical and bio-chemical techniques, biomedical and robotics, bio-informatics, nano technology and textile engineering, among others.
These candidates must attend a ‘bridge’ course in mathematics before entering this technical course.
For technical courses such as mechanics, computer science and civil engineering, students in class 12 with biology subjects will not be able to register from next year, according to Sheth.
After canceling the council exam this year because of the Covid situation, the Gujarat and higher secondary education council said it would use students’ shows in 12th grade, 11th grade and class 10 exams in the ratio of 25:25:50 to evaluate their 12th grade results.
The results of 12th grade for science science will be announced in the second week of July.
