Letter: Gangster Then Jhalim alias Amit Amit Rajput wants in a case listed under the control of Gujarat for terrorism and organized crime laws (Gujcoc) arrested along with his colleague Nikunja Chauhan on Monday.
Both were sent to police custody for 15 days by a local court on Tuesday.
Rajput was arrested from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh by the Crime Branch (DCB) detection team.
He has avoided arrest since December 2020.
Asli Mahendru Village in Jaunpur, Rajput had escaped a few days before a violation under Gujcoc was registered against him.
“It is a challenging task for the rajput nab whose family is well connected politically,” police said.
Meanwhile, Chauhan Nabbed from Bharuch is based on specific information.
Rajput operates a gang known as the ‘Jhalim’ nickname.
At least 94 violations were registered against Rajput and his gang members which included murder, extortion, threats, several attacks.
When registering a violation of the police had captured Shivam Rajput, Nilesh Avchite and Jagdish Kantariya while eight others.
