Jharkhand chose 6 tribal students to sponsor their education abroad

Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has chosen six tribal students from the country to help them pursue their higher studies at universities located around the world under the MAGANG GOMKE JAIPAL SINGH Munda scholarship program, which was announced last year.
Officials said the six students were elected in the first phase of the scholarship program and they would be accepted at five universities located in England.
Under this program, the government has proposed to sponsor 10 tribal students per year, which includes their tuition fees, travel rates and other fees while pursuing their master or a higher degree at foreign universities.
In the next phase, students from the SC community also tend to be included.
In a statement, the Chairman of the Minister of Hemant Soren said the scholarship was named after respecting Magang GOMKE JAIPAL Singh Munda, who was the first tribal student who studied at Oxford University in England between 1922 and 1929.
