Ranchi: Health Minister Jharkhand Banna Gupta to conduct a death audit to fight the central announcement that no death Covid reported because the lack of oxygen has reached obstacles.
Gupta said that the state government was conducting the death audit of victims of Covid-19 but there was no progress because the district had not collected data.
Launched an all-out attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gupta on Friday held the Prime Minister responsible for the death of Covid patients for lack of oxygen.
“PM was solely responsible but former Health Minister Union Harsh Vardhan was made in the scapegoat.
The public will not accept this because most deaths occur due to lack of oxygen,” Gupta said.
According to the State Health Department, an order was issued by the Director of Missoion (MD), the National Health Mission (NHM), to all districts on June 5 this year to conduct an audit of all Covid deaths reported between April 1 and May 21.
However, district officials have not contacted a family member who died, let alone submit any reports.
According to the letter issued by MD NHM Ravishankar Shukla, deputy commissioner of all districts were directed to submit a report after conducting a death audit in each district in seven days.
According to the letter, the Five Member Committee was formed to conduct an audit led by Children’s Reproductive Health and Health (DRCHO) with the District Surveillance Officer, a doctor from the Medical College Department of Medical, Epidemiological District District Program Manager as its members.
This committee is responsible for conducting an audit and sending it to the State Health Department on June 13 according to the order.
However, when contacted, Ranchi Drcho Dr.
Shashi Bhushan Khalko said, “Committee members are preparing a Covid death list from our district and once we finish it, we will also contact patient relatives.” Asked about the tentative time for the completion of the audit, he stated his inability to provide a period of time.
In particular, Capital State Ranchi has reported the maximum death of Covid as 1,221 people surrendered to the virus between April 1 and May 21.
The number of deaths from Covid during the period was 3.646.
When contacted, MD NHM at this time Umachankar Singh said, “We have not received reports from several districts and we have instructed them to complete the exercise as soon as possible.”
