Ranchi: The Jharkhand Government has directed all the 24-district administration to complete the Covid-19 bed assessment at the end of this week.
According to the Ministry of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, this step in preparation for the estimated third wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
In the order on August 14, Arun Kumar Singh Health Secretary has directed the deputy commissioner of the district to assess the number of Covid-19 beds, including government health facilities and private hospitals, and report it to the depay.

District administration is also directed at ensuring the procurement and storing important and critical drugs for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
For this purpose, district health machines are empowered to get critical drugs (which are recommended for use by the center only) for stock and its use.
Among consumables, the order said the district had to raise the demand for items such as N95 masks, hand sanitis, gloves and PPE kits for use by doctors and health workers.
Singh also asked the district to fill the promises needed in the hospital and medical facilities managed by the state to ensure sufficient labor to manage new outbreaks of viral infections.
“The state increases its preparation to reduce the third wave of pandemic predictions amid the continuous opening of hospitality and other sectors, including domestic trips throughout the state.
The second wave experience shows and emphasizes the critical infrastructure type needed,” said Singh.
Meanwhile, the Dashboard Covid-19 state government on Monday said there were 578 Covid hospitals in the state, where 382 was personal.
