Medininagar: A FIR has been registered in more than 100 people to do ‘Bhajan’ and ‘Kirtan’ during the Dussehra Festival by breaking the Covid-19 guideline in Hydernagar in the Palamu Jharkhand district, a police officer said on Monday.
Police officers Sub-Division (Hussainabad), Pujya Prakash said a FIR was submitted for violating Covid norms issued by the Jharkhand government.
A large number of worshipers took part in religious procession during the Dussehra Festival did not maintain social distance on the road or wear facemask, which was like inviting a pandemic, he said.
No arrests have occurred because in this case, police officers said.
Senior BJP leader and former Jharkhand Minister of Jharkhand Babulal Marandi condemned police action and demanded a direct withdrawal from FIR.
