Jharkhand gets a fresh stock of a 58K dose, can manage VAX for one day

Ranchi: The fresh consignment of 58590 covaxin doses arrived in the city on Wednesday, the day after vaccination drive came to unexpected cessation in Ranchi after most session sites ran out of covishield and covaxin doses.
Once fresh delivery arrived, it was distributed among the districts which also lacked the vaccine stock.
However, the Ministry of Health officials said that new shares will only last one day and they are banks on other consignments of the dose of vaccine (covishield), which is expected to arrive on Friday, to help them continue the inoculation drive.
Speaking with Toi, officers about special tasks for the State Health Department, Sidharth Tripathi, said, “Until Tuesday morning, we had a total of 82652 stockings, where 47,066 was given, leaving us with 35,586 doses at night.
Along with new Covaxin shares, We have a total of 94,176 current doses, which should be enough until we accept the next consignment on Friday.
“Asked about the number of doses of the country will receive on Friday, Tripathi said,” We will get a total of six doses of lakh on Friday and we have communicated All districts to ensure that each pick-up van reaches the country’s warehouse by Thursday night itself so they can collect doses and reach each district on time so that the drive can begin on Saturday.
“Meanwhile, the state government has demanded the center to reduce the monthly vaccine quota for a private hospital which quotes a lack of c A bad accuracy and response because private hospitals have not even vaccinated 2% of the total targets allocated to them.
Asked about the number of doses available with a private hospital, Tripathy said that he did not have the right figure because this vaccine was purchased by a private hospital directly according to the targets allocated.
He added that there were only a few hospitals carrying out vaccination drives across the country.
Meanwhile, people who came to take the second dose of the covishield they had to return home empty-handed because of the lack of doses in the state capital.
Surendra Prasad, a resident of Queen Ratu said, “I, together with my wife, has taken the first dose of Covishield on April 13 and we were told that we had to take the second dose after May 22, so I went to the vaccination center at a conscious hospital but I was asked to return three days later because the vaccine is available.
