Ranchi: To strengthen the readiness ahead of the third wave of Covid-19, the Ministry of Health will conduct a gap assessment of all private children’s clinics and hospitals in the state.
This assessment is intended to identify the gap in the resources needed to treat Covid-19 patients in accordance with the state of the state government.
A detailed manual has been prepared by the Ministry of Health and all civil surgeons have been asked to complete the earliest assessment.
In accordance with officials, the manual has been divided into two groups which include assessment of facilities for pediatric age groups between one month and 18 years and for neonatal groups.
Civil surgeons have been asked to hold consultative meetings with private clinic representatives and hospitals and make them aware of the manual.
This manual is further divided into six categories and all districts must collect information such as the number of children’s clinics available in their respective districts and the availability of trigger, NICU and the bed in the hospital.
To ensure the availability of equipment needed to treat Covid-19 patients, the manual will also record shortcomings in private hospitals for supporting devices saving lives such as NIVs, oxygen concentrators, among others.
Speaking with Toi, officers about the special task for the State Health Department Siddarth Tripathy said, “We are conducting a gap assessment to ensure better health care facilities by equipping the state and private-managed clinics in front of the third wave.” The state government has enough stocks.
