Ranchi: After a two-year pause, forced by a Covid pandemic, Jharkhand’s Metal Band – Highway 69 – known for his energetic presence since 2012, looked forward to this Christmas Eve night revival.
Formed in 2012, Highway 69 won many band titles throughout the country, registering its place with an aggressive style and fast tempo.
Apart from many places in Jharkhand, the band has performed in Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Burla and Sambalpur, Odisha, Kharagpur and Kolkata in the West West, Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu, Goa, Ahmedabad, Hyderah, Mumbai and Guwahati.
The band was finished as a finalist at The Hornbill Festival in Dijapur, Nagaland, in 2017 and 2018.
“Live concert prohibitions and all major meetings since March 2020 to curb the spread of the Corona virus has forced us to life that is uncertain.
There is no clarity about the future We and even though we continue with our practice individually within the boundaries of our rooms and houses, we don’t know when, as a band, we will be able to play directly again, “Kerketta Tarang, Vocalist, and Founder of Highway 69, told TII.
“Our composition is ‘Beyond Imagination’, ‘Don’t be a prisoner of the past’, ‘hope and origin’ still appearing on YouTube, Amazon music and other platforms,” he said.
“However, this Christmas night, and with countries throughout the country quickly opened, we planned a comeback with a live music session on December 22 in our family room at Kadru in Ranchi.
This will be a private affair, even though we have invited Senior musicians and other bands to play.
This will be our first public comeback since March 2020, “Kerketta said.
“I also plan to immediately revive the Thunderstrock Festival, a heavy metal music festival, which is held in Ranchi locally, which is a charity contest to support and encourage local Live bands.
The results of the contest are always used to finance poor students to pursue higher education, “He added.
