Jharkhand: Passur is hesitant to take Jab in Gumla, Administration Special Camp Plan

Gumla: Very vulnerable tribal group (PVTG) in Bishunpur blocks in the Gumla District – Asur tribe – hesitant to take Jab even though the authorities take great pain to vaccinate.
“So far, 31,829 people in group 18 + have been vaccinated against the target of 72,522 in the tribe of Asur Tribe,” said Bishunpur Bdo Chanda Bhattacharya.
Polipat Pat, Kujjam, Sakhuwapani and Amtipani, are located in Gurdari and Ampipani Panchayats from Block Bishunpur which formed the main part of the netarhat highlands, is four main residence of Asur Tribe.
President Yuva Jagriti Abhiyan, Polpolpat Vimal Chandra Asur, said that the tribe had a population of 22,000 scattered in Bishunpur blocks, Chainpur, Ghaghra and Dumri in the district and no members who had tested positive Covid-19 became far away.
He, however, said that fellow tribes had begun to take shots because they motivated them to the same thing.
Local sources said, “Only tribes working in Hindalco have taken vaccine shots because the company has made it mandatory for its workers to take a shot.
Those who work at the government’s work have also taken vaccines.” Bhattacharya said, “We have held a vaccination camp.
On the Hindalco office campus in the last week of May and only 65 people took Jab.
” In addition to the tribe, Birjiya is another PVTG in Gumla which has shown doubts in taking vaccines.
In Ambahona and Ramjharia, Gurdari Panchayat Village, Munda and Oraon tribes also did not want to take a vaccine.

Ashutosh Singh said, “Members of the Health Staff and Local Social Activists have been engaged to motivate people in remote areas to take Jab.” Bhattacharya said that they had a special plan to hold a mega vaccination camp in the area as soon as they received a fresh vaccine stock.
Meanwhile, residents of the village of Hira under Serka Panchayat in the same block have shown great enthusiasm in taking Jab.
“More than 90% of the qualified population have been inoculated,” said Singh, added that the unavailability of vaccines had slowed the current speed.
