Ranchi: Jharkhand reported 1,009 new Covid-19 cases, 481 less than the previous day, with the installation of calculations to 424,337, said Bulletin the Ministry of Health on Thursday.
The death toll rose to 5,286 as five more people – two from the East Singhbhum Regency and each of Bokaro, Dhanbad and Sarikela – surrendered to the disease in the last 24 hours, he said.
At least 2,921 people were recovered from infection during the period, taking the total recovery to 4,05,143.
Capital Country Ranchi reported the highest number of cases in 289, followed by Godda in 180, and West Singhbhum at 107.
Jharkhand now has 13,908 active cases, said Bulletin.
More than 1.95 Crore sample tests have been made from Covid-19 in the state so far, including 42,600 since Wednesday, he said.
The state government has reached back strict restrictions, including the closure of all educational institutions, tourist attractions and parks, until January 31 after a surge in the Coronavirus case.
