Ranchi: The state government has decided to appoint a historical / citizenship teacher in government schools in non-scheduled districts after the Supreme Court gave a green light on this problem.
Personnel and the Department of Reform Administration issued a letter to the Secretary of the School Education and the Literacy Department that communicated the same.
Educational Secretary Rajesh Sharma said with this decision, around 650 teachers tended to be appointed in non-scheduled districts (those who were not notified under schedule 5).
He added, “The Ministry of Education worked to make a major appointment of teachers.” In July 2016, the state government had issued a notification to provide a reservation of 100% for the local population in the appointment of teachers in 13 scheduled districts.
One Soni Kumari submitted a petition, challenging the legality of the conditions mentioned in the ad.
He claimed that reservations based on residence and birthplace could not be maintained in the eyes of the law and directly affected his fundamental rights.
