Ranchi: Jharkhand Assembly with the support of non-profit organizations based in Delhi PrS legislatively, will host the first youth parliament on October 30-31 in the new assembly building.
The idea is to create awareness about the legislative process among young people and give them the opportunity to get direct experience through the assembly session.
The assembly secretariat has made a complicated arrangement for the youth parliament, the first of its 21-year-old history.
Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahto, Minister of Mithilesh Thakur, Secretary of the Jharkhand Assembly Mahendra Prasad and the Legislative Expert from PRS, Chakshu Rai, discussed the media here on Wednesday to share the details of the selection process and event plan.
Mahto said future leaders were formed at a young age and unless there was exposure to the system governing the people, there was still a termination.
“I was inspired by young blood like Malala Yousafzai and Greta Thunberg who had raised their voices at a young age.
Even we have smart kids like them in Jharkhand but there is a need to provide it with the stage,” he said.
