New Delhi: Billionaire Investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-Backed Startup Airline Akasan has chosen Boeing 737 Max.
The airline places orders for 72 of these aircraft worth $ 9 billion with a list of listings in Dubai Air Show on Tuesday.
Airplane delivery will begin early next year, when the airline hopes to start flying.
Earlier this year, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has cleared Max to fly, from, inside and in India.
Until now Spicejet is the only Indian operator that has B737 Max but no aircraft flying.
Akasan has received a vital no objection certificate from India, after that it will now apply to the air operator permit from DGCA and hope to start flying next summer.
Proposal Ultra Low Cost Carrier (LCC), SNV Aviation Pvt Ltd which will fly under the brand name of the water, tested by Veteran Vinay Dube which is the CEO.
Jhunjhunwala recently met PM Modi in Delhi.
In a recent statement, the airline said it “plans to offer flights throughout India starting in the summer of 2022 with efforts to become the most reliable, affordable, and greenest airlines.”
